About Me

I'm awesome!- My sister wrote that. A little bit about me eh. Well I consider myself a rather unique individual and a lot of things make me who I am, but mainly my travels define me. To start off I was born and raised in the Caribbean til I was 8 and survived a hurricane. My family and I moved to Wisconsin where I was home-schooled and then attended public school for middle and high school. My junior year of high school, I spent a year living in Niigata, Japan as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student. After graduation, I took a year off before going to university and spent a year in Indaiatuba, Brasil, again as a Rotary Youth Exchange student. I then went to university at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. My junior year there, I did a semester abroad in Kenya and Tanzania with the School for Field Studies. Here I studied conservation management and ecology of African mammals. I am currently in my final semester at UWM and will graduate in May. After graduation the plan is to work a lot for several months and head to South Africa to train to be a field guide. That's the goal. The other thing that really defines me is my love for animals. I have 3 pets who I love dearly. There are my two cats, Kit Kat and Snickers, and my diva of a chinchilla, Munchkin. I have a weird obsession with goats and hope to one day retire and become a goat herder. It's a little out there but if you couldn't tell already, it's quite common for me to think outside the box.
